Today's Red Sox vs Cubs game is technically not meaningless

Though both the Red Sox and the Cubs are locked in to their respective league's 5 seed this seemingly meaningless game 162 has to be played. If the Cubs and the Red Sox were to meet in the worldseries and the Red Sox won today they would have homefield advantage due to having the same record with the tiebreaker.
