Wide receiver A.J. Brown and quarterback Jalen Hurts did not speak during the Patriots-Eagles joint practice on August 19, according to multiple reports. Per Bleeding Green Nation, Brown largely stayed clear of his former Eagles teammates, with minimal interaction beyond a brief exchange before stretching with the Patriots instead of Philadelphia's roster.
The two were formerly aligned in Philadelphia before Brown was traded to New England on June 1. CBS Sports reported that Brown's relationship with Hurts had become strained in Philadelphia, while he already appears comfortable with Patriots quarterback Drake Maye.
Brown performed well on the field during the practice. ESPN reported that Brown professed his "love" for the Eagles and Hurts following the session, though other outlets emphasized the lack of direct communication between the two former teammates during the event itself.
