Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy returned to the team last week and addressed reporters Tuesday for the first time since his wife, Mia, was shot in late July. Per ESPN, Bieniemy said his wife is on track to make a full recovery. ESPN also reported the shooting was allegedly carried out by one of the couple's sons at their home in Virginia.
Bieniemy told reporters his wife is "doing great" and gave him her blessing to return to the team, per multiple outlets. He thanked the Hunt family and the entire Chiefs organization for their support during his absence. Per Arrowhead Pride, Bieniemy had been back at training camp for a week before his Tuesday comments and had been involved in coaching activities remotely during his leave.
