The Braves announced Tuesday that they designated veteran reliever Tyler Kinley for assignment and recalled right-hander AJ Smith-Shawver from Triple-A Gwinnett. Smith-Shawver will start tomorrow's series finale against the Twins, per multiple reports.
Kinley spent the past year in the Atlanta bullpen after coming over in a 2025 trade with the Rockies. He re-signed with the team on a $4.25 million deal, according to MLB Trade Rumors. Smith-Shawver, 23, was expected to rejoin the team during this week's road trip, one outlet noted in advance of the move.
