Left-hander Noah Cameron threw a complete game one-hitter to lead the Kansas City Royals to a 3-0 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. Cameron allowed one hit and one walk while striking out eight batters over nine innings, per multiple reports.
Cameron lost his no-hit bid in the seventh inning but continued through the final pitch of the game. Michael Massey and Bobby Witt Jr. each homered for the Royals in the shutout win.
According to a Reddit post citing his statistics, Cameron has been on a remarkable stretch since making a change to calling his own pitches about a month ago. The post noted he had a 4.93 ERA on July 24th and had allowed just five earned runs over his last 37.2 innings as of today.
