The Arizona Diamondbacks placed second baseman Ketel Marte on the restricted list shortly before first pitch Monday night in Boston. The team has not publicly commented on the move.
Per MLB Trade Rumors, Marte traveled with the team to Boston but did not show up to Fenway Park for the game. The Diamondbacks were hopeful he would arrive before first pitch, according to Yahoo Sports. In response to the roster move, the team recalled infielder Jose Fernandez from Triple-A Reno. The 40-man roster remains at 40 players.
