The Dolphins acquired quarterback Kyle McCord from the Packers in a trade, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Miami sent a 2028 sixth-round pick to Green Bay in the deal.
The trade addresses quarterback depth after the Dolphins traded Quinn Ewers to the Jaguars, leaving Malik Willis as the only quarterback on the active roster. McCord, 22, was originally a sixth-round pick by the Eagles. One report noted he was reunited with Kevin Patullo in Miami and described him as a "familiar face" to the organization due to his connection with Green Bay.
The Dolphins will waive Mark Gronowski as part of the move. Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley indicated Saturday that the team likely plans to keep two quarterbacks on its 53-man roster.
