Harrison Smith is returning to the Minnesota Vikings on a one-year deal for his 15th professional season. The veteran safety, who was released by Minnesota in March, will rejoin the team ahead of the regular season.

Reports differ on the contract value. Tom Pelissero is reporting an $8 million deal with incentives that could double that amount, while another report cites a $12.3 million figure. Smith's return addresses a safety position that has undergone changes this offseason, following Minnesota's release of another veteran at the position.

At 37 years old, Smith will continue his tenure with the Vikings after spending his entire career with the franchise.
