Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the team would be open to making a trade if presented with the right opportunity, following the franchise's signing of pass rusher Von Miller last month. Jones framed the potential deal-making as a matter of timing, saying the Cowboys would consider moves "if we saw an opportunity to take a little of the future and put it on this team."
The comment comes as the Giants released wide receiver Darius Slayton, creating a free agent option in the market. Per NFL Trade Rumors citing reporting from Josina Anderson, three teams have expressed preliminary interest in Slayton since his release. Anderson noted the Colts as a potential landing spot due to Slayton's connection with Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, though it remains unclear whether Dallas is among the teams that have inquired about the receiver.
With the Von Miller acquisition already in place, Jones's latest remarks suggest the Cowboys have created cap space and remain active in pursuing roster upgrades as the 2024 season approaches.
