The Detroit Lions placed running back Isiah Pacheco on injured reserve Tuesday, ending uncertainty about his availability for Week 1. Lions head coach Dan Campbell had said last week he couldn't make a "definitive" statement about Pacheco's status, but the move clarifies the situation.
Pacheco will miss a minimum of four games and is eligible to return ahead of Detroit's Week 5 matchup against Arizona, per multiple reports. ESPN reported that Pacheco is dealing with both a back injury suffered during training camp and an MCL sprain.
The Lions addressed the roster spot by re-signing tight end Tyler Conklin to the active roster. The team also signed guard Elijah Klein and wide receiver Dominic Lovett to the practice squad as part of the same roster moves announced Tuesday.
