The Seattle Mariners defeated the Boston Red Sox 8-3 on Wednesday, winning their series matchup. J.P. Crawford recorded three hits, while Jhonny Pereda added two hits and two RBIs, including a two-run single during one of Seattle's two four-run innings, according to ESPN and Sportsnet.
The Mariners collected 12 hits in the victory, per MLB.com. The Red Sox, meanwhile, saw their pitching staff struggle after the returns of Roman Anthony and Trevor Story. Yahoo Sports reported the pair had continued hitting well in their first four games back in action, though Boston's offense posted 17 runs across the series.
In a separate move, the Mariners signed right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson to a minor league contract, per MLB Trade Rumors. Woods Richardson will join the Tacoma Rainiers, Seattle's Triple-A affiliate, after electing free agency following his waiver claim by the Toronto Blue Jays.
