The Seattle Mariners promoted Michael Arroyo from Triple-A on Sunday for his MLB debut, according to multiple outlets. Arroyo, an infielder-outfielder, will reunite with his best friend on the roster, per MLB.com's reporting of the move.

Yahoo Sports noted that Arroyo will be just the 35th Colombian-born player in MLB history. The timing of his call-up comes as the Mariners face dwindling playoff hopes, according to Deadspin.

To make room on the roster, Seattle optioned infielder Patrick Wisdom to Tacoma and moved right-hander Nick Davila from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL, per MLB Trade Rumors. Davila will miss the rest of the season with an SC joint sprain. ESPN and Deadspin differed on Arroyo's prospect ranking, with ESPN listing him as the team's No. 4 prospect and Deadspin calling him No. 3. His debut will come against the Athletics.
