Marcus Mariota has been ruled out for the remainder of the Commanders' Week 4 matchup against the Colts in London after reinjuring his right MCL, per NFL Trade Rumors. Commanders head coach Dan Quinn told sideline reporter Molly McGrath at halftime that Mariota will not return, though Quinn provided no timetable for his recovery.
Athan Kaliakmanis, the third-string quarterback, entered the game in Mariota's place. The Commanders were already without starter Jayden Daniels, who is sidelined after dislocating his left elbow. Mariota had earned the start after Daniels' injury, making this his second consecutive game under center.
Highlights circulating on social media show Kaliakmanis' performance in his first NFL appearance, including a touchdown throw and an encounter with Colts defensive end DeForest Buckner.
