Lazaro Montes made an immediate impact in his MLB debut Tuesday night, hitting a home run to help the Seattle Mariners defeat the Boston Red Sox 9-6 and snap a five-game losing streak.

Montes walked in his first plate appearance before collecting his first career hit and RBI later in the game, according to reporting from multiple outlets. ESPN reported he finished with 2 RBIs in the contest. Per Yahoo Sports, Montes is now the first Mariners player with multiple hits in his debut since Ichiro Suzuki in 2001.

The Mariners scored in each of the first five innings en route to the victory. Randy Arozarena also contributed with a three-run homer.
