The Phillies were eliminated from the playoffs Thursday night, marking another postseason disappointment for a core that continues to age without delivering a championship. Per ESPN, Bryce Harper offered a blunt assessment in the wake of the exit: "You're here to win games, and we didn't."
The elimination has prompted widespread examination of the team's path forward. CBS Sports' Dayn Perry raised questions about the Phillies' lineup, manager, and the narrowing window for a group that has now fallen short in the postseason repeatedly. The offseason has begun in Philadelphia with the roster composition and direction of the franchise now in focus.
