Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. has denied seeking a record contract, per CBS Sports, even as negotiations between the star defender and Pittsburgh remain unresolved heading into Week 1. Porter said the business side of the NFL has not changed his desire to remain with the team.

Porter's status for Sunday's season opener against the Falcons is uncertain. He is listed as questionable on Pittsburgh's injury report after being limited in Friday's practice with a back injury, per ESPN. Yahoo Sports reports he is the only name on the Steelers' injury report ahead of the game.

The contract extension talks appear to be ongoing as both sides work toward an agreement before the season begins.
