Pete Prisco published his Week 1 power rankings for the 2026 NFL season, calling out the Jaguars and Cowboys as teams deserving attention while expressing skepticism about the Rams' offseason roster construction. According to CBS Sports, Prisco noted he's "ready for the critics to unleash their fury" on his inaugural rankings.

Pro Football Talk's Week 1 rankings showed the defending Super Bowl champions still holding the top spot, though "barely," suggesting a competitive field at the season's start. Per Yahoo Sports, multiple outlets produced their own Week 1 rankings, with one noting the inherent difficulty in projecting teams this early: "The hardest part about doing NFL power rankings for Week 1 is that no one really has any freaking clue where these teams should be."

Beyond power rankings, CBS Sports reported the Falcons have named their Week 1 starting quarterback, though the identity of that starter was not detailed in available reporting.
