Mikko Rantanen scored all three Dallas goals, the last one 3:52 into overtime, and the Stars beat the Bruins 3-2 on Tuesday night at American Airlines Center. The AP report, carried by Yahoo Sports and ESPN, says the win snapped Boston's five-game winning streak. It was Rantanen's 11th career three-goal game and his first in the regular season since the Stars acquired him in a trade during the 2024-25 season.

The winner came on the power play. Stanley Cup of Chowder reported that the Bruins were about 30 seconds from killing a slashing penalty on Pavel Zacha when Rantanen scored. Sportsnet described the finish as a backhand. The box score for the game agrees on the penalty. It credits Zacha with two penalty minutes, and Dallas went 1-for-3 on the power play against 0-for-4 for Boston.

Boston led twice. Per the line score, the Bruins went up 1-0 in the first period and 2-1 in the second, and Dallas never led in regulation. Rantanen scored twice in regulation to force overtime, according to Sportsnet. The box score lists James Hagens and Matthew Poitras as the Boston goal scorers. Sportsnet also said Jason Robertson added two assists. The box score confirms that, and it also gives Rantanen six shots on goal.

The three goals took Rantanen to five on the season, per the box score's year-to-date column. His 32 goals in 2025 came across stops with Colorado, Carolina and Dallas. Dallas outshot Boston 25-20, though Boston blocked 22 shots to Dallas's 13. The Bruins also gave the puck away 15 times to Dallas's eight.
