The Rays are one win from the World Series. Per Yahoo Sports' game threads, they lead the Guardians 3-2 in the ALCS, and Freddy Peralta started Game 6 on Monday at Tropicana Field. The game was scoreless in the bottom of the second when we last checked. Sportsnet had coverage starting at 8 p.m. ET.

Peralta has thrown two innings, allowed one hit, no walks and struck out one, on 29 pitches. His regular season was ordinary: 10-11 with a 4.42 ERA and 156 strikeouts in 169.0 innings over 32 games. Cleveland has used Shawn Armstrong for one inning and Tim Herrin for two-thirds so far. Herrin walked a batter, and Cleveland has not yet put a runner past first. Victor Mesa Jr. walked and stole second in the second inning, and Chandler Simpson had already stolen a base. That gives the Rays two steals through two innings.

The Rays lineup, per Amazin' Avenue, is Yandy Diaz at DH, then Jonathan Aranda at first, Liam Hicks catching, Junior Caminero at third, Simpson in left, Mesa in right, Jonny DeLuca in center, Richie Palacios at second and Taylor Walls at short. Aranda hit .274 with 22 home runs and 92 RBI in the regular season. Cleveland's order starts with Steven Kwan in left, who hit .282 with a .731 OPS, followed by Jose Ramirez, Chase DeLauter, Jo Adell, Nathaniel Lowe, Travis Bazzana and Patrick Bailey. Kwan has the game's only Guardians hit so far, in the first inning.

Tampa Bay went 98-64 and won the AL East. Cleveland went 85-77 and won the AL Central, so the Rays had the stronger season by 13 games. In this series, Cleveland won Game 3 by 3-2 on Thursday, Oct. 15, at home. The Rays then won 3-1 on Friday and 7-3 on Saturday. That made it 3-2 going into Monday.

Battery Power noted Cleveland is trying for its first World Series title since 1948. Al Yellon at Bleed Cubbie Blue wrote that this Game 6 came without an off day because Friday's rainout compressed the schedule. He added that a Rays win would mean no baseball until Friday, when World Series Game 1 is set for Milwaukee. One Yahoo Sports thread writer said they were rooting for Cleveland to force a Game 7. If that happens, our schedule has the Rays hosting Cleveland again on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
