Saints rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson is expected to miss roughly two months with a hamstring injury sustained during a practice last week, per Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. The 22-year-old Arizona State product, selected eighth overall, could open the season on short-term injured reserve as a result.
Head coach Kellen Moore told reporters that this hamstring injury is unrelated to previous issues Tyson experienced at Arizona State, according to Yahoo Sports' Andy Backstrom. NFL Trade Rumors reported that the injury occurred when Tyson was pushed from behind during practice, distinguishing it from a separate hamstring injury he sustained in the spring.
Despite the setback, Tyson had been a standout performer during training camp before the injury, per Rapoport and Garafolo. The wideout is consulting with experts on his recovery.
