Max Scherzer moved into ninth place on MLB's all-time strikeout list Sunday, passing Hall of Famer Gaylord Perry. The Blue Jays right-hander struck out 10 batters in the game against the Mariners, according to multiple outlets.

Scherzer earned his first win since March in the performance. The Blue Jays defeated Seattle 7-0, completing a three-game sweep. Scherzer and two relievers combined on a one-hitter, per ESPN, while Alejandro Kirk and Kazuma Okamoto homered for Toronto.

Yahoo Sports reported that Scherzer could pass former teammate Justin Verlander for eighth on the all-time list with potentially five more starts remaining in the season.
