Safety Nick Emmanwori will not play in the Seahawks' season opener against the Patriots on Wednesday night, per multiple outlets. Yahoo Sports characterized Emmanwori as one of Seattle's defensive stars, though the reporting available does not specify the reason for his absence.

The Patriots will also be without depth on their roster for the game. Efton Chism, a second-year wide receiver, has been deemed a healthy scratch, per Pats Pulpit. Chism spent the offseason as New England's last option among roster-caliber receivers.

The Seahawks enter the 2026 season under new ownership following the Khosla family's purchase of the team from the Allen family, according to ESPN and Yahoo Sports.
