The Brewers are one win from sweeping the Dodgers in the NLCS. They beat the defending champions 6-2 in Game 3 on Wednesday at Dodger Stadium. Per the r/baseball game thread, a win Thursday would send Milwaukee to its first World Series in 44 years. CBS Sports led its Wednesday roundup with the result, and ESPN's Stephen A. Smith said the Brewers are "humbling" the Dodgers.

The game was close until the seventh. Our box score shows Robert Gasser throwing five scoreless innings on 72 pitches. Gasser went 5-5 with a 3.87 ERA in the regular season. Milwaukee led 1-0 from the first inning until Los Angeles scored two in the sixth, which put the Dodgers ahead for that half-inning's worth of the game. In the seventh, Milwaukee scored three, and Jackson Chourio, Jake Bauers and Garrett Mitchell each homered. Milwaukee added a run in each of the eighth and ninth. DL Hall got the win with 2.1 scoreless innings and Trevor Megill closed it out.

Blake Snell took the loss. He went six innings, allowed four runs on three homers and struck out nine. That was a rough night for a pitcher who finished the regular season 4-1 with a 1.90 ERA in nine starts. The Dodgers did have chances. The reddit thread's line score has them leaving eight on base, but they scored only twice.

The lineup's struggles run deep. Freddie Freeman went 0-for-4 and is hitting .192 in the series. Teoscar Hernández also sits at .192, and Mookie Betts struck out to end the game and is at .231. Kyle Tucker was the exception, getting on base twice and hitting .304 in the series. Muncy's quote came in CBS Sports' Julian McWilliams' piece, which was headlined that "a baseball dynasty could go out with a whimper." Muncy added of the Brewers, "they're playing great." CBS was the only outlet here to carry the quote, and ESPN's item offers only its headline.

The three games have gone Milwaukee's way by small margins: 2-1 on Sunday, 7-4 on Monday and 6-2 on Wednesday. The Brewers, 103-59 and NL Central winners, have won five straight. The Dodgers finished 100-62 and won the NL West, but they have lost three straight, and only the 2-1 game was decided by fewer than three runs.
