The 49ers have climbed to the top of power rankings heading into Week 5, per Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, even as the team deals with injuries. The ranking comes after four games of the 2026 season—roughly a quarter of the 17-game schedule, as NFL Trade Rumors' Ethan Woodie noted in its update.
Three teams remain undefeated through four weeks, according to reporting from Arrowhead Pride and Windy City Gridiron. Arrowhead Pride's Dakota Watson reported that all three unbeatens carry flaws but continue to win, while Windy City Gridiron noted that five teams entered the week without a loss before the weekend's games concluded.
Beyond San Francisco's ascent, outlets are examining broader team concerns. Yahoo Sports and Windy City Gridiron both released rankings focused on each team's biggest area of concern heading into the week, offering a different lens on how clubs stand after a quarter of the season.
