With yesterday’s TNF overtime game, 2026 is now tied for the most OT primetime games in a season (4), just six weeks into the year.
I saw the stat about how we’ve experienced 3 straight OT primetime games this week so I decided to dig further and found that the record for most primetime overtime games in a season is 4, having happened three other times (2022, 2015, 2002). With yesterday’s game, the 2026 season is the fastest to that mark just 6 weeks into the season! All we need is at least 1 more OT game to happen on TNF, SNF or MNF in order for the record to be broken. submitted by /u/MoistCloyster_ [link] [comments]
