The Bengals placed tight end Erick All Jr. on injured reserve on Tuesday and signed tight end Cam Grandy off the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad. Pro Football Talk and Yahoo Sports tied the moves to an injury All suffered in Sunday's win over the Ravens. Deadspin described the injury as a knee injury.

NFL Trade Rumors is the only outlet of the four to name a diagnosis. It reported a torn ACL, and its headline called the transaction one of four moves. The other outlets we have don't confirm the diagnosis, and we have no word from the team on it. NFL Trade Rumors also reported that the Bengals placed tight end Josh Kattus on a list, but its summary cuts off before saying which one. We have nothing on the other moves.

All played in the game he was hurt in. In Cincinnati's 35-13 win at Baltimore, he caught all three of his targets for 26 yards, with a long of 9. That fits his season. Through six games he has 8 catches on 10 targets for 56 yards and no touchdowns, and he has one fumble, which he didn't lose. He has played in all six of the Bengals' games. His role was modest, and the team's three-catch share on Sunday shows he was still part of the passing game.

Grandy arrives from a 6-0 Vikings team that leads the NFC North. Our archive shows no receiving production for him, so there is little to say yet about what he adds. The Bengals now have to fill All's snaps with Grandy and whoever else is available at tight end.

The timing comes as Cincinnati is playing well. The Bengals are 4-2, third in the AFC North, and have won two straight. Sunday's win dropped the Ravens to 4-3 and fourth in the division. Cincinnati scored on all five of its red-zone trips and averaged 7.0 yards per play. Its other recent results were a 31-24 win at Miami and a 22-17 home loss to Jacksonville.

The Bengals' next game is Sunday, Nov. 1, at home against Tennessee. Grandy could be active for it, but none of the reporting says what role the team has planned for him.
