Ravens rookie guard Vega Ioane has a sprained MCL, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Ioane left Sunday's loss to the Bengals with a knee injury. Rapoport reports the injury happened in Week 7 and is considered short-term, though Ioane will miss a little time. Pro Football Talk and Yahoo Sports carried the same report. Rapoport's report on Reddit says he and Mike Garafolo got the news from sources. It also calls Ioane one of the NFL's best rookies this season.

None of the reports gives a return date or says how many games he will miss. They say only that he will be out "a little bit of time" before he comes back. NFL Trade Rumors adds that Ioane is 22. It also says he was a three-star recruit out of Washington State who committed to Penn State. The Ravens have not said anything in the material we have, and the reports do not say whether the team will place him on injured reserve.

The timing is hard for Baltimore. The 35-13 loss to Cincinnati at M&T Bank Stadium left the Ravens 4-3 and fourth in the AFC North, on a two-game losing streak. They lost 13-10 at Cleveland the week before. Cincinnati led 14-13 after three quarters and then scored 21 points in the fourth.

The box score shows how much pressure was on the offensive line. Baltimore ran 65 plays to Cincinnati's 51 and gained 359 yards to the Bengals' 357. But the Ravens went 0-for-3 in the red zone and were sacked four times for 22 yards. They also threw an interception and were penalized 10 times for 57 yards. The box score does not show when Ioane left the game or who replaced him. We have no individual lines for the game, and our archive has no player record for him, so we can't give his season numbers.

Baltimore's next game is at Buffalo on Sunday, Nov. 1. Whether Ioane plays there depends on how "short-term" is defined, and the reports don't define it. The Bengals are 4-2 and have won two straight. They play Tennessee the same day.
