Jacob deGrom will remain with the Texas Rangers after invoking the no-trade clause in his contract, per Deadspin. The 38-year-old two-time Cy Young Award winner told the Rangers before Monday's trade deadline that he wanted to stay with the 55-57 team, ESPN reported.
"I want to be here," deGrom told reporters at Globe Life Field, adding that "I believe in this group." The decision keeps the veteran right-hander with Texas as the team continues its season.
