The Hornets have made several organizational changes ahead of the 2026-27 season. Charlotte hired Mike Pires as general manager and Zach Peterson as head coach of the Greensboro Swarm, their NBA G League affiliate, per a team press release. Pires will maintain his role as director of pro personnel while overseeing the Swarm's basketball operations.

On the roster front, the Hornets signed Kyle Mangas and waived Trey Townsend, using an open spot on their 21-man offseason roster. This move came a day after Charlotte signed Townsend and waived Josiah Allick in a similar transaction.

Meanwhile, the Cavaliers announced a local broadcasting partnership with DAZN for the 2026-27 season and will produce their own telecasts, per Awful Announcing. Cleveland was among the final NBA teams without a local broadcast deal following the demise of Main Street Sports Group and the FanDuel Sports Networks.
