The NFL has suspended Vikings wide receiver Jeshaun Jones for three games for violating the league's Substances of Abuse policy. Per ESPN's Kevin Seifert, the suspension begins on Aug. 30, though Jones may participate in the remainder of the preseason before it takes effect.
Jones, 26, signed with Minnesota as an undrafted free agent following the 2024 NFL Draft out of the University of Maryland, where he was a three-year starter. According to one report, he has spent the past two seasons on the team's practice squad, though the reporting available does not fully clarify his status heading into this season.
The suspension comes as Jones faces an uncertain path to the Vikings' 53-man roster. Multiple outlets note that he will learn his roster status later this week, but he will be unavailable for Minnesota's first three games either way due to the disciplinary action.
