The Jacksonville Jaguars and wide receiver Parker Washington are unlikely to reach a contract extension before the start of the season, according to reports from NFL Network and NFL Media.
Per Jordan Schultz, the two parties have "come to a halt" in their negotiations without reaching an agreement. Washington plans to "bet on himself" and enter the 2026 season without a long-term deal in place, Schultz reported. The Jaguars and Washington have been negotiating a long-term extension for months.
The impasse sets up Washington to play the upcoming season on his current deal rather than secure a new contract before kickoff.
