Davante Adams will miss six to 10 weeks with a ruptured hamstring, Rams coach Sean McVay said, per Yahoo Sports and ESPN's Adam Schefter. Adams appeared to get hurt on the final drive of Sunday's 18-16 home loss to the Cardinals. Pro Football Talk and Yahoo also report that defensive tackles Poona Ford and Kobie Turner will miss significant time. Ford is going on season-ending injured reserve.

One detail differs. A r/nfl post crediting Grosbard describes the injury as a ruptured tendon in the knee, again per McVay. Every other outlet we have says hamstring. The feed summaries don't explain the gap. It may be a different description of the same injury, but nobody we have reporting from the article text has said so. Yahoo's headline for one of its pieces also asks whether the injury will end Adams' career. The summary doesn't say what, if anything, that question is based on.

Adams had been a central part of the offense. He has 30 catches for 480 yards and four touchdowns on 49 targets in six games. His two biggest games came early. He had 8 catches for 195 yards and two touchdowns against the Giants in Week 2, then 7 for 137 at Denver. In the last three games he has been held to between 32 and 51 yards, though he did score twice against Buffalo. On Sunday he had 3 catches for 39 yards on four targets.

The Rams are 2-4 and have lost two in a row. Both losses were by a combined five points: 37-34 to Buffalo and 18-16 to Arizona. Over their last six games they have scored 22.5 points a game and allowed 23. They went 2-for-4 in the red zone against Arizona and failed on both of their fourth-down tries. Arizona was 0-for-5 in the red zone, but it held the ball for nearly 35 minutes, and the Rams ran only 20 times.

The defensive losses compound the problem. Turner has 20 tackles in five games and Ford has 12. Neither has a sack. SB Nation notes the Rams now sit three games behind the 49ers in the win column. San Francisco is 5-0 and plays the Commanders on Monday night. The 49ers already beat the Rams 27-7 in Week 1.

The six-to-ten-week range is wide. Even the short end of it takes Adams out of the Rams' next several games, and the long end takes him out of much of the rest of the season. The reporting we have doesn't say whether he will go on injured reserve or who will take his targets.
